Our jobs on Facebook

Wow! There can’t be many people who haven’t heard of the Facebook social network by now. At some point in the last few months it hit the tipping point and I was getting invites every day from people I hadn’t spoken to in years, and others I never expected to find on a social network - Hi Mum :)

How many of you are on Facebook? Statistically it should be about 60% but seeing as you’re here you could click below and tell us.

do potential bloggers get put off by fields such as URL above? most people don’t have one after all…

also, i can’t ‘click below’ to tell you if i am on facebook… there’s nowhere to click (i use firefox…?)

    @ Serial Jobber

Thanks for your feedback. Regarding the URL field below in the comment section: Our blog engine Wordpress includes it by default in the comment section - it is not a required field so I’d hope that people would not feel they have to fill it in - on the plus side if you do have your own blog or website it’s a great resource.

Regarding the “Click below to tell us if you have facebook” - we use a plugin for Wordpress to generate simple polls - this plugin does require Javascript to be enabled. It is possible that you may have Javascript or Java disabled? or you may be behind a Firewall that blocks Javascript? It also works fine with Firefox for us on XP, OS X 10.4 and Ubuntu.

Please do write back if you do have JS enabled (or are unsure how to tell) and are not behind a content filtering firewall and we’ll try to get to the bottom of it.

    Cheers,
    Eben
