Monday 18th September marks #HousingDay 2017. This annual event celebrates the incredible work done within the housing sector, as those working on the front-line strive to improve the lives of some of the UK’s most vulnerable people.
#HousingDay 2016 was considered a resounding success: people came together across the UK to spread the word and boost the profile of an often overlooked profession. Mostly taking place over social media, particularly Twitter, there were up to 3,000 tweets sent an hour as #HousingDay trended all day. This culminated in an astounding 30,000 tweets throughout the day as real-life stories were shared as well as other blogs, articles and comments.
2017 promises to be even bigger as the sector prepares once again to find its collective voice in order to turn the eyes of the social media world towards the incredible — and essential — work being done.
As ever, Jobsgopublic will be playing our part on the day. Our social media accounts will be active all day long — we’ll be joining the discussion, sharing our favourite posts and publishing a range of our own blogs focusing on the housing sector.
